This red leather and brass example has an 8 day movement and is in good working order. The circular base has an chiselled ribbed design topped by the arch of a stylized stirrup, from which hangs the round clock with a Swiss movement housed in a red leather frame with white saddle stitching. Both the clock face, the underside and base are marked Hermès, Paris. This “pendulette’s” chunky leather format and “Pique sellier” decoration are typical of Paul Dupre-Lafon’s legendary work for Hermes in the early to mid part of the 20th century.
