Pair of Patinated Bronze Three-Light Chandeliers in the Empire Taste

Pair of Patinated Bronze Three Light Chandeliers in the Empire Taste 13

A pair of patinated bronze three-light chandeliers in the French Empire taste, of recent manufacture. Each has a triform body issuing three out-swept tubular arms with gadrooned bobeches, suspended on three chains gathered at a turned bronze ball boss, with a baluster finial below and a ring pendant above — the classic Empire suspension arrangement. Good quality decorative pieces made in the early nineteenth-century manner rather than of the period, with an even dark patina throughout. Wired for electricity, with brown braided flex twisted around the suspension chain in the period manner, ivory candle sleeves and flame-tip filament lamps; photographed hanging and lit. Sold as a pair. Drop 95 cm, 25 × 22 cm each.
