Maria Pergay's first collection of stainless steel furniture, including the Ring Chair and the Flying Carpet Daybed, was exhibited in 1968 at Galerie Maison Jardin, paris. She was quickly sought after by sophisticated collectors for private commissions.
She produced iconic designs for Hermes and other French design houses during this period. Her work is scarce and has become very collectable.

In the 1970s Pergay worked in Saudi Arabia where she designed palace interiors for the royal family. In the late 1980s through the 1990s, Pergay worked on several important commissions in Russia.
Stainless steel is her trademark material of choice.

Pergay has exhibited internationally, including Paris, Korea and London. She has also focused on private commissions and worked with Demisch Danant on her catalogue raisonné, which was released in 2011. Maria Pergay is still creating to this day, she resides in Paris.
